Butterflies Clubs

We will be exploring the wonders of nature in a range of settings including the woods, the beach and nature reserves. Completing a range of mindfulness activities and exploring our surroundings. This amazing activity was made possible to add to our offer by the national lottery community fund, who funded our nature explorer sessions through awards for all. 

We will be exploring our senses using a range of sensory equipment and movements to meet sensory needs. 

We will be exploring science and technology, by taking part in experiments and trying to find out the reason behind the results. We will use the skills we learn about in our technology activities, previous challenges have included bridge building and support structures. 

We will be going from the food exploration basics in Caterpillars Club right through to learning to cook a meal independently in the Soaring Club!

We will be spending time in the community and using this time to have fun, socialise with our peers, work on our safety awareness skills, work on our independence skills and our social skills in a range of environments. 

We will be getting very, very messy!

Our messy play sessions are always very popular, with all ages loving to explore various textures and getting messy!

We will be working on our safety awareness skills and learning & practising how to keep safe in a wide range of situations including water safety, road safety, food safety, contacting emergency services etc. These sessions will count towards ASDAN qualifications for the children/ young people taking part. 

We will be having water based play sessions, where we work on our confidence in the water as well as our water safety awareness. During the play sessions we will take part in games, challenges and show off our swim skills!

An instructor lead session where we explore our creative side, learning new techniques in arts & crafts to make our wonderful creations!

We will work as a team or individually on our masterpieces, to encourage peer interaction and teamwork.

We will access a range out outdoor activities, that helps us to explore physical activity in a more challenging environment. 

Activities include pedal go-karts, climbing walls, mini-crossbows, orienteering, assault courses, treasure hunts, archery, team games and other exciting activities. 

We will be visiting venues on a regular basis to learn about the various animals they have and how to care for them. 

We will be assisting in a range of tasks to care for the animals and learning the responsibilities of being a pet owner or how to care for animals as a job. 

This is our physical activity session, where we work as a team to explore a range of ball skills, exercises and challenges related to a range of sports. 

Teamwork is a big factor in this session and peer support is highly encouraged, to improve confidence and peer interaction.
